Biography and Experience
Guest Assistant Professor at Faculty of Fine Arts of University of Lisbon, Sciences of art and heritage department. Adjunct Assistant Professor at Instituto Politécnico de Tomar. PhD in Conservation of Cultural Heritage at the Portuguese Catholic University in collaboration with the Centro de Investigação em Ciência e Tecnologia das Artes (CITAR) and the Instituto del Patrimonio Cultural de España (IPCE). The doctoral research was about the criteria and methodologies which might help to enhance the quality of painting retouching. The projects are presented through publications, lectures, exhibitions and presentations. Master´s degree in Painting Conservation by the same University (2010). Diploma in Conservation and Restoration by the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (2005). Founder of the group RECH Group (http://rechgroup.pt/) which provides a framework within which conservation specialists can meet and work on an interdisciplinary level about the retouching process. Teaching about conservation and restoration, specially chromatic retouching, since 2008. Since 2004 carrying out conservation and restoration works.
The 5th International Meeting on Retouching of Cultural Heritage,
RECH5, will take place at Università degli Studi di Urbino "Carlo Bo", Scuola di Conservazione e Restauro dei Beni Culturali, Urbino, in Italy, on18th-19st October 2019.

The University of Urbino "Carlo Bo" is an Italian university located in Urbino, a walled hill-town in the region of Marche, located in the north-eastern part of central Italy. The university was founded as an academic institution in 1506, although it was not fully recognised as a university until 1671.
The city has around 15,000 inhabitants and 15,000 university students. It is still a city on a human scale: distances can be covered on foot.
